Lainie Knox is an Associate CSC and IATSE 667 member who has been helping filmmakers tell their stories across many genres for 20 years. Her passion for light, nature and photography started at an early age and landed her at Concordia University studying Communications and Environmental Studies. After moving from Montreal to Toronto she 1st assisted on many Music Videos and Commercials before moving on to operating and DP’ing. Born in Winnipeg, now based in Toronto, Lainie has travelled extensively and shot in India, Bangladesh, SE ASIA, Europe, Cuba, United States and in all Canadian provinces.
Latest projects include Children Ruin Everything created by Kurt Smeaton, Tokens created by Winnifred Jong, Holly Hobbie created by Sarah Glinski, TallBoyz helmed by Kids in the Hall, Bruce McCulloch, Killjoys created by Michelle Lovretta , and operating on the Academy award winning feature film, Women Talking from Sarah Polley.
She is a firm believer in the power of connecting people and sharing experiences through visual storytelling. Something magical can happen when engaging all your senses and collaborating with others. Lainie is always searching for that connection through the lens and in the world around her. When not on set you can find her in a forest or lake with her son.
